PageTurnPro is an online, automated publishing platform that transforms static PDF files into virtual magazines and publications. We offer a self service solution as well as a full service solution and custom options to "add on" to your publication.
What is an active PageTurnPro publication?
An active PageTurnPro digital publication refers to any publication that has been uploaded to your account and is set as "active" in your account overview.
Does PageTurnPro offer custom services if my digital publications have unique functional requirements?

What is the pricing for digital publishing at PageTurnPro?
Prices vary depending on if you choose the self service solution or the full service solution. In either solution, however, the pricing is based on the number of publications or editions per year. For example, if you have a monthly publication we consider that 12 editions annually. We do not have any page limits or any limits as to how many times your publication can be viewed. What features are available for digital publishing and how do I enable/disable those features?
Each digital publication that you create, using the self service solution, will include the following features:

Do I have to host my digital edition on my own server?
PageTurnPro is a full feature hosting service which allows us to provide you with up-to-date interface enhancements and patches. It also allows your digital publications to be easily searched and indexed by major search engines including Google, Yahoo, and Bing.
What kind of reporting does PageTurnPro offer?
PageTurnPro offers real time traffic reports. You can access stats such as; page overview, media overview, OS overview, and browser overview. Please see the same traffic report below.
Also, if you have a free Google Analytics ID, you can easily integrate your digital edition statistics with your website statistics and generate a consolidated report.
What are the limitations I should be concerned with when uploading my static files?
PageTurnPro converts only PDF files. If you're using the self service solution you should have a single PDF file that contains all the individual pages of your publication. We also recommend a resolution between 100-150dpi. All the pages of your publication should be the same size and you should remove any crop marks from the pages of your PDF before uploading the file. After optimization, your PDF should be less than 100 MB in size. If you find that your file is still over the 100MB limit, please view our custom solutions for assistance.
If you're using the full service solution, please send us your PDF as 1 large file and we will take care of the optimization for you.
Can I embed my digital edition on my website?
Yes, the publication tools allow you to generate a code snippet that you can copy and paste into your existing website pages. You can embed a static embed code or an animated embed code. The static embed code allows you to mask the URL to your publication, so this is the best option for paid publications.
How do I inform readers that they can view the online edition?
Each PageTurnPro digital editions is assigned a URL specific to the digital edition. The generated link can then be shared with your readers. Suggested methods of sharing are email newsletters or publishing the URL in your print edition. Also, you can refer readers back to your website where your publication will be available using the embed code.
Can I customize the background color of the viewer to coordinate with my publication?
The default background color for a digital publication is gray or black. You have the ability to modify the background color by selecting from a preset list of popular color options.
I have a lot of URLs throughout the text of my publication. Will PageTurnPro automatically recognize and link those URLs for me?
Yes. Any well-formed, text based URL that is contained within the copy of your publication will be automatically linked for you.* Links embedded in images cannot be recognized and are thereby not automatically linked.
* For best results be sure to enable links within your PDF file before uploading to PageTurnPro. Refer to the documentation of your PDF software for details on how to enable this.
Can I customize how my defined links appear within a digital publication?
If a URL is manually defined in the Media Manager it will flash a shadow box over the linked area for several seconds when the reader opens to the appropriate page. If the URL is defined in the PDF before uploading to PageTurnPro, the flash will occur only when the cursor rolls over the link.
Can I incorporate video throughout my digital publication?
Yes. You can incorporate video that you have already hosted within YouTube that will automatically play to the left of the front cover of your digital edition. This area is great for sponsorship ads. You can also embed any type of video format within the pages of the publication. We don't have any limits as to how many videos you place however; there is a file size limit of 500 MB per video. Please refer to our custom solutions for additional creative assistance related to your unique video needs.
Can I associate digital publications to each other so that my readers will have access to related publications of the same theme or topic?
Yes. PageTurnPro uses a powerful tagging system that allows you to define and customize publications and group them by criteria.
What do users need to access PageTurnPro publications?
PageTurnPro requires you to have Windows XP (or higher), or MAC OS, a major, current web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari), Flash plugin installed, and computer hardware requirements standard for most modern-day applications. No additional 3rd party website or downloads are required to view a digital edition.
Does PageTurnPro offer a mobile solution?
Yes and the best part is you don’t have to buy an expensive app. to view our mobile version. If your reader logs in from an iPad or other mobile device our software will detect that and automatically send the HTML version for them to view.
Is your mobile version available on all mobile devices?
There are over 5,000 mobile device and operating system combinations. While PageTurnPro’s mobile version has been optimized for the iPad, it is viewable on the other devices, as well. If the device supports Flash (e.g. Android or Blackberry) the reader will see the Flash version. Please make sure that they have downloaded and installed the Flash component on their device. For devices that do not support Flash PageTurnPro will detect the software and automatically send an HTML version.
